The Path of Alchemy

This relationship is not for comfort, nor for possession,

not for the pride of man or the shelter of woman.

It is a path of fire — a furnace prepared by God —

where the metals of our souls are placed together.

Here, every joy is the flame that melts us,

every wound is the hammer that shapes us,

every surrender is the water that cools us,

until what is false burns away

and what is true becomes unbreakable.

We are not bound as lovers of the world are bound.

We are bound as two spirits chosen

to dissolve their egos in each other’s reflection.

Your shadow reveals my light,

my light reveals your shadow,

and together we discover the gold hidden within.

This is not romance as the world names it.

This is alchemy:

a path given only to those who dare to lose themselves

so that God may be revealed in what remains.
